Oriental Mindoro celebrates 69th Founding Anniversary

Gov. Bonz led the 69th Founding Anniversary Celebration

Bearing the theme, ‘Fiesta MaHalTa Na!’, Oriental Mindoro celebrates its 69th founding anniversary.

Governor Bonz Dolor led the opening program of the weeklong celebration which was witnessed by prominent personalities, elected officials, LCEs, personnel of some national agencies and PGOM employees. During the opening program, Governor Bonz commended the presence and participation of all the municipal mayors of the province during the banner raising which was joined by their respective Miss Oriental Mindoro candidate. He said that this event is remarkable in the history of the province for their presence connotes individual transformation and willingness to forget any tinge of the previous election differences in order to work hand in hand with the DOLOR-PEREZ administration for the development of the province.

Aside from the presentation of Miss Oriental Mindoro 2019 candidates, awards were also given to the winners of anniversary-related contests like the Fiesta Mahalta Na Logo Making Contest and Theme Song Writing Contest. PGOM also awarded P25,000 financial assistance to each LGU tourism officers for the purchase of laptops/tablets to be used for the updating of tourism data. The launching of the 2020 Search for Safest, Greenest and Cleanest LGU was also done which was a joint project of the Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO), Provincial Veterinary Office (PROVET) and Provincial Health Office (PHO).

‘Fiesta MaHalTa Na!’ is also a celebration highlighting Oriental Mindoro’s icons: the Mangyan, Mt. Halcon, Tamaraw and the recently included Naujan Lake.
