NAPOCOR inaugurates its 69KV transmission line in Oriental Mindoro

NAPOCOR Operations Manager Delos Reyes presents the project to Gov. Bonz Dolor, Cong. Leachon and DOE Usec. Juaneza.

National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR) formally inaugurated its 69 KV transmission line in Calapan City Substation which will mostly cater the 2nd district of Oriental Mindoro in order to address the issue of power shortage in the area.

NAPOCOR Operations Manager Maximo Delos Reyes explained that this reinforcement is vital in giving the province enough power that it needs and rehabilitate the 69 KV lines which was constructed in the year 1996. He added that this distribution line has an overall capacity of 13,800 volts and a large amount of power depletes once distributed to the southernmost part of the province. In the rehabilitation, he said that the Calapan-Bansud “2” 69 KV transmission line uses a much larger cable for sufficient and effective power transmission that would benefit both establishments and households in general. Oriental Mindoro is lucky enough because it is among the first and only province which is isolated from the main grid to benefit from this kind of project, Delos Reyes added.

Amongst the witness of this notable event were Governor Bonz Dolor, 1st District Representative Doy C. Leachon who are both grateful of this project. Gov. Bonz on his message affirmed his gratefulness and assured his support to NaPOCor on its endeavors specially if it would be for the benefit the people.

Also present were Department of Energy Undersecretary Emmanuel V. Juaneza, ORMECO General Manager Atty. Norberto Mendoza and members of the board.
