“We can only achieve our full potential if we think and share that we are not just one and separate being from others but actually we are one community of people. With this, we can share a world with peace, with harmony and most specially a better future for everyone.”
This summed up Governor Bonz Dolor’s message as he graced the Year-End Conference of Council of Deans (COD) MiMaRopa as keynote speaker at Vencio’s Garden and Hotel in Calapan City bearing the theme: ‘Contextualization of Global Citizenship Education in HEIs.’
Governor Dolor gave emphasis on globalization as key towards development with neighboring countries but still focusing on individualism, patriotism, peace, unity, concern and protection of the environment as primary bequest for the next generation.
The purpose of COD is the continuing improvement of the regions HEIs. As a forum for deans of various tertiary schools, the Council identifies issues affecting academic instructions and develops strategies to achieve the various missions of HEIs. This body addresses policies guiding the association in its service and advocacy functions; programs for the advancement of institutional management and support for the deans’ leadership role in guiding individual schools towards excellence in higher education, research and staff and student development.
