10 June 2026, Socorro – A new Municipal Auditorium under the “One Town, One Legacy Project” of Governor Humerlito “Bonz” A. Dolor is set to rise in Socorro after its groundbreaking last 09 June.
Said project is expected to provide Socorreños with a more comfortable venue for important gatherings such as government, community and cultural activities.
The Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro (PGOM) allocated an initial amount of Php30M for Phase 1 of said project and will grant additional fund for its completion.
Meanwhile, Socorro Municipal Government, headed by Mayor Nemmen Perez, facilitated the provision of the land area dedicated for the project site.
During the event, Oriental Mindoro Ambassador of Christ Bishop Joel Mancio led the blessing and prayer for the success of said project.
Moreover, a time capsule laying ceremony and unveiling of the project perspective marked the official commencement of construction for the Socorro Municipal Auditorium.
In his message, Governor Dolor emphasized the implementation of other infrastructure and development projects in Socorro, including the proposed Naujan Tourism Circuit to boost its tourism sector and create additional employment opportunities for Mindoreños.
Mayor Perez also thanked Gov. Dolor and PGOM for continuously supporting their town through the implementation of projects and programs that contribute to the progress of Socorro and its residents.
First Lady Hiyas Govinda Ramos Dolor, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board Members Ryan Arago and Ralf Jonel Recto, Vice Mayor Allan Kenneth Tolentino along with the Sangguniang Bayan Members and Socorro Municipal department heads, Office of the Governor Chief of Staff Nette Dalupan, Provincial Engineer Edylou Tejido, Senior Executive Assistant Joey Dalupan, former Vice-Mayor Roy de Claro, Oriental Mindoro Provincial Police Office Provincial Director Col. Edison V. Revita, barangay officials, various organizations, and other concerned individuals witnessed and supported the event that marked another significant development for the province.
