04 June 2026, Calapan City – The Provincial Government continuously strengthens the local economy of Oriental Mindoro through aquaculture.
Under the Aquaculture Productivity Enhancement Support Program of the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office (PAgO), headed by Provincial Agriculturist Christine Pine, a total of 250,000 pieces of Vannamei post-larvae and 300,000 bangus fry were successfully distributed to 111 fishpond operators in Bulalacao, Mansalay, Roxas, Bongabong, and Calapan City last 28 May.
Said initiative was a part of the ongoing effort of Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor to strengthen food security and increase the production and income of Mindoreños engaged in aquaculture.
Moreover, the program also promotes a long-term stabilization of the aquaculture industry by enhancing the livelihood resilience of the fishery sector for sustainable and alternative fishing practices.
