07 May 2026, Naujan – Governor Humerlito “Bonz” A. Dolor officially announced that the construction of the Php300M Bambanin-Merit Tourism Esplanade is set to begin in Victoria.
Gov. Dolor presented the overall plan for said project to Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mark T. Lapid and Victoria Mayor Richard Inciong during their inspection last 04 May.
Bambanin-Merit Tourism Esplanade is one of the four Tourism Development Projects spearheaded by the Provincial Government.
Said infrastructure will serve as a new tourism hub, featuring a lighthouse, souvenir shops, restaurants, and Naujan Lake cruise.
Moreover, this project will also highlight the natural beauty of Naujan Lake, the fifth largest lake in the Philippines, designated as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention.
Meanwhile, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) – Environmental Management Bureau has already issued the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) that allows the construction of said project to commence as soon as possible.
