In anticipation of the increased travel activity and the corresponding risks, including port congestion and heightened public safety concerns during the observance of Holy Week 2026, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), upon the directive of the PDRRMC Chairperson, Governor Humerlito A. Dolor, shall implement proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all.
In this regard, effective at 7:00 AM of 02 April 2026, the PDRRM Operations Center was raised to BLUE ALERT STATUS for the duration of the Holy Week observance to ensure that monitoring, reporting, and coordination with concerned agencies are efficiently carried out.
In Oriental Mindoro, Holy Week continues to hold profound significance as a time for prayer, reflection, and family unity. Many of our kababayans journey back to their hometowns to observe this sacred season with their loved ones, strengthening both their faith and cultural traditions. At the same time, the province receives an influx of visitors seeking a peaceful environment conducive to rest, contemplation, and retreat.
Rest assured, all local emergency response teams and partner agencies are on heightened readiness to ensure a safe, orderly, and meaningful observance of the Lenten season.
