28 March 2026, Socorro – In a bid to further boost the province’s tourism industry, the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro (PGOM) formally inaugurated the Tourist Rest Area and Souvenir Stop (TRASS) in Barangay Batong Dalig, Socorro.
The project is part of the “One Town, One Legacy” program under the administration of Governor Humerlito A. Dolor.
The facility will serve as a temporary rest stop to showcase and promote locally-made products from the municipality and the Province for both local and foreign tourists.
The inauguration was led by Governor Bonz, together with his wife, Hiyas Govinda Ramos-Dolor, in coordination with Vice Governor Antonio S. Perez Jr., and Socorro Mayor Nemmen Perez.
According to Governor Bonz, the project forms part of his development agenda outlined in his campaign platform when he first ran for Governor in 2019 — now successfully realized.
Meanwhile, Governor Bonz announced that beginning 29 March, TRASS Socorro will be opened and available to the public 24/7.
