Each cooperative has been invited to send a representative from their Education and Training Committee, preferably the chairperson, to take part in the discussions.
Through the consultative meetings, PCDO aims to gather insights on the current roles and functions of ETCs, surface operational concerns and competency gaps, and identify priority areas for training and development. The activity will also help ensure that future capacity-building initiatives are responsive and aligned with the actual needs of cooperatives across Oriental Mindoro.
The results of the consultation are expected to guide the development of more relevant and sustainable programs that will further enhance the capability of cooperatives in the province.
The initiative is being undertaken with the support of the Provincial Government under Governor Humerlito โBonzโ A. Dolor as part of its continuing commitment to strengthen the cooperative sector and promote inclusive local development.
Provincial Cooperative Development Officer Orlando B. Tizon emphasized that empowering ETCs is a key strategy in building resilient and well-governed cooperatives that can contribute meaningfully to the provinceโs economic growth.
