3 February 2026, Victoria – Newly constructed Oriental Mindoro Consolidation and Trading Facility(OMCTF) formally opened to aid farmers in processing and marketing the agricultural products.
Governor Humerlito “Bonz” A. Dolor and Department of Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. led the ribbon-cutting ceremony and inauguration of said project at the Provincial Demonstration Farm in Merit, Victoria on 2 February.
Through this facility, excess raw agri-products that are otherwise difficult to sell in various towns in the province will be purchased by the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro (PGOM) at fair prices to eliminate losses on farmer’s income.
Said products will then undergo multiple processing stages to become value-added products, which will enhance the province’s market competitiveness in the agriculture sector OMCTF is one of the major agricultural projects of PGOM that marks a significant step to further support Mindoreño farmers in improving their livelihood as the primary workforce who ensures food security and supply within and outside the province.
