OMSDH Dialysis Center Ready to Serve Mindoreños

Free dialysis services are now available at the Oriental Mindoro Southern District Hospital (OMSDH) in Barangay Odiong, Roxas.

Said facility was formally opened last 11 December by Governor Humerlito “Bonz” A. Dolor, First Lady Hiyas Govinda Ramos-Dolor, Provincial Health Officer II Dr. Cielo Angela A. Ante, OMSDH Chief Dr. Jocel Caranzo, Second District Board Member Jomarc Philip Dimapilis, and Roxas Mayor Jerwin Dimapilis, marking the official start of operations of the new facility.

Serving as the third Dialysis Center established by the Provincial Government, the first center opened at the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital (OMPH) in Calapan City in 2023 and the third at the Oriental Mindoro Central District Hospital (OMCDH) in Pinamalayan in 2024. Thousands of dialysis sessions have already been provided through these facilities to patients across the province.

Reducing the financial burden of patients who require long-term dialysis treatment remains a primary objective of the project, especially for those who previously spent significant amounts on regular medical procedures.

Marking an early Christmas gift for Mindoreños, the facility initially provided free dialysis service to three patients who became it first beneficiaries.

Further expansions were planned, with the construction of additional Dialysis Centers at the Bulalacao Community Hospital (BCH) and Naujan Community Hospital (NCH) already lined up. This initiative aims to ensure that all public hospitals in Oriental Mindoro are eventually equipped with their own dialysis facilities, further strengthening provincial healthcare programs.

Meanwhile, construction of a Regional Hospital is set next year. Once completed, the facility will cater to specialized medical conditions of patients in the MIMAROPA Region, minimizing the need for referrals to hospitals in Metro Manila.
