4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) was successfully conducted at Barangay Pambisan, Baco, this municipality which was spearheaded by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in coordination with Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro through the Provincial disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) with the support of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Baco.
Mayor Allan Roldan expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Government, PDRRMO,
participating agencies, barangay officials of Pambisan led by Barangay Captain Alica Sanchez, and all individuals who actively took part in the drill.
Simultaneous sounding of alarms, followed by the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure
participated in by the students of Pambisan Elementary School and members of the community
were conducted. This was followed by a series of simulation exercises portraying various post-earthquake scenarios, including the evacuation of residents, provision of first aid to injured individuals, search and rescue operations for missing persons, fire suppression within the school premises, and the implementation of response protocols in accordance with the Incident Command System.
As a token of appreciation for their active participation, plaques of recognition were awarded by the PDRRMO and OCD to LGU Baco, DILG, G.O.-PISD, PSWDO, DepEd, and emergency response units, including the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Municipal Health Unit (MHU), 76th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, Philippine Coast Guard, and the of Pambisan, Barangay officials.
