Porfirio G. Comia Memorial National High School (COMEHI) from Naujan clinched the championship title against 14 contingents in the “SayAwit: Kwento ng Ating Lalawigan” competition held at Punzalan Gymnasium, Pinamalayan on November 13.
This event was just one of many exciting activities featured in the celebration of Fiesta MaHal TaNa: The 75th Araw ng Oriental Mindoro.
COMEHI received a cash prize worth Php100k, additional Php100k for their school, a certificate of recognition, and plaque.
The group also received special awards as Most Disciplined Delegation and Best in Costume, each with a cash prize of Php10k.
Oriental Mindoro National High School from Calapan City won first runner-up and the Best in Music award and received cash prize worth Php75k, additional Php10k for the special award, a certificate, and plaque.
Second runner-up title and Best in Costume were awarded to Leuteboro National High School from Socorro, along with Php50k, additional Php10k for the special award, certificate, and plaque.
Aside from the winning titles, contingent from Nabuslot National High School of Pinamalayan also received a special award as Best in Dance and given Php10k cash prize.
Governor Bonz Dolor increased the prize amounts from the originally allocated cash prizes as additional support for the participating students.
Vice-Governor Antonio Jojo Perez, Jr., IPMR Board Member Lagtum Pasag, and 2nd District Board Member Atty. Roland H. Ruga also witnessed the event and expressed their respective admiration and support for the young participants in the competition.
