As part of its continuous efforts to promote disaster preparedness and strengthen community resilience, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Oriental Mindoro conducted an earthquake drill at Family Court Branch 11, Calapan City.
The activity aimed to enhance the capacity of employees to respond effectively during seismic events. Participants practiced the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” technique and performed proper evacuation procedures under the guidance of trained PDRRMO personnel.
The drill underscored the importance of immediate and coordinated action during emergencies and highlighted how regular exercises play a vital role in improving institutional readiness.
This initiative demonstrates the strong collaboration between local government offices in fostering a culture of safety and preparedness, aligned with the province’s broader goal of minimizing risks and ensuring the protection of lives and property during disasters.
