around 30 establishments in Oriental Mindoro.

As the Christmas season approaches, DTI reminded the public not to buy or use
substandard products. Director Hutala said that their operations follow the strict
enforcement of standards set by the Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS)
continue, in line with Republic Act No. 4109 or the “Standards Law”. He also
urged consumers to be vigilant and always look for Philippine Standard (PS)

The activity supports the implementation of Republic Act No. 7394 or the
“Consumer Act of the Philippines” which imposes penalties on business owners
proven to sell or distribute substandard products.
