October 14, 2025 | News by PISD

Total of 1,486 kilograms of valueless government
records was properly disposed by the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro
(PGOM) in compliance with the guidelines of the National Archives of the
Philippines (NAP).
The disposed documents were sold for ₱4,888.94.
This initiative is part of PGOM’s adherence to the Implementing Rules and
Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act of 2007, which ensures proper management and
disposal of government records that have exceeded their retention period.

Before the disposal, the Provincial General Services Office (PGSO), led by OIC-
PGSO Atty. Jean Phebie De Mesa, together with the personnel from Commission on

Audit (COA), carefully reviewed all documents to ensure compliance with NAP
General Circular No. 5 relative to the Guidelines on the Disposal of Valueless
Records in Government Agencies.
The inspection was personally witnessed by Provincial Administrator Atty. Earl
Ligorio R. Turano, representing Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor, who advocates
for maintaining clean and organized offices by removing unnecessary files.
The recyclable documents were weighed and sold at ₱3.29 per kilo to D’ Lacoste
Enterprise, the NAP-accredited buyer of valueless records. Damaged documents,
such as those infested by termites, will be properly buried by the enterprise to
prevent further use.
All proceeds from the sale were turned over to the Provincial Treasurer’s Office
(PTO) and will serve as additional funds for the Provincial Government.
